Nitrox Diver

Course Description
The Nitrox workshop is an entry level course for divers wishing to utilize enriched air nitrox as a breathing gas. Little else has impacted recreational diving more than the introduction of nitrox, allowing more time underwater. During this course, you will learn the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for diving with EAN 22 to EAN 40. The course will also cover:

Equipment considerations
Cylinder labeling
Analyzing of Nitrox



Prerequisites
Open Water certification for an internationally SCUBA agency

First Aid, CPR, AED, O2 provider (PADI)

Emergency First Response and Emergency Oxygen Provider gives you the confidence to respond to medical emergencies -- not just in the diving world, but in your every day world with your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers too.
You will receive two certifications from this workshop.

Course Description
Introduction to Scientific Diving is designed for the scientist or scientist-in-training who plans to use SCUBA diving as a tool for underwater research. Skills covered include dive planning, emergency management, underwater navigation, survey techniques, and instrument deployment and recovery. Course objectives are (1) to develop and apply the attitude, knowledge, skills and judgment required to safely plan and implement a scientific diving project; and (2) to meet national Scientific Diver requirements as defined by the American Academy of Underwater Sciences

Prerequisites
(1) Permission of the instructor;
(2) certification for open water scuba diving from a nationally recognized program;
(3) six logged dives in the past six months;
(4) Diving medical exam showing approval for diving, completed by a physician knowledgeable in hyperbaric medicine;
(5) Divers Alert Network (DAN) dive insurance.
