. Biogeochemistry
Marine biogeochemistry involves the study of the biological, geological, and physical processes that drive chemical cycling in marine systems. The mechanism of these transformations quite often is through the activity of marine organisms that may act as ecosystem engineers. Scientists in the FSU Department of Oceanography are investigating biogeochemical interactions within coastal and marine systems and between these systems and the atmosphere.
