RESEARCH AND PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS

I am interested in community ecology and both the direct and indirect effects of trophic interactions. More specifically, I am interested in studying the causes of changes in the diversity and biomass of the autotrophs in a system. It is important to understand the dynamics of change in both diversity and biomass of autotrophs, as they are the base of the food web. In declining systems such as seagrass beds or saltmarshes, it is particularly important to monitor and understand the causes of decline before conservation efforts will be effective.
