Welcome to the spring issue of our newsletter, Tidings. This issue highlights the research of Post-doctoral Associate, Chris Stallings for his work in seagrass meadows of the Big Bend and his recent paper on the loss of Caribbean marine fish predators. The “Letter from the Director” addresses the critical importance of healthy oceans to both our economic and ecological well-being and directs you to a recent relevant report by The Joint Ocean Commission Initiative. The very successful Open House held April 18th focused on the research conducted by FSU faculty, post docs, and graduate students. Finally, we reveal our strategic building plan for the FSUCML to take the lab forward, an initiative with which we hope you will become involved.
