The FSUCML Adult Education programs provide participants with exciting opportunities to learn while having fun in a relaxed and biologically diverse setting. Some courses include opportunities for an overnight stay at the FSUCML. Learn about the different workshop offerings by clicking on their titles below. Details about what to bring with you will be provided when you register for the workshop. Hope to see you soon at the FSUCML on Apalachee Bay. Writing in Nature Workshop Series These day long workshops, offered by local writers, provide you with an opportunity to practice your writing craft on the coast, spend the day at the coast, practice and perfect your nature writing skills, in work ranging from memoirs to poems, journal entries or advocacy essays.

Nature Artist Workshops Under the guidance of local artists, participants in this workshop series experience nature through art along the coast of Apalachee Bay. Each workshop has a specific theme and a medium that varies from artist to artist, all with nature at its core.

Exploring the Edge of the Sea This is a short course spent on the edge of Apalachee Bay learning about the many creatures that live at the interface of land and sea and how they make a living in this highly variable environment. Be ready to get muddy, of course, and enjoy yourself being in nature.

Big Bend Birding Weekend This short course provides lectures on bird identification and migratory bird patterns, as well as a field trip and an overnight stay at the FSU Coastal & Marine Laboratory. When possible, the field trip will include a visit to Lanark Reef or other sites known for good birding.
