CML Personnel Support

Florida State University’s Coastal and Marine Laboratory (FSUCML) attracts and serves people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.  To fulfill our mission, we seek to provide a professional and respectful atmosphere for everyone.

Sometimes conflict and challenges arise. If you need a secure place to talk in confidence about issues you experience in the marine lab environment, you can contact the lab’s Director, Joel Trexler (jtrexler@fsu.edu), for assistance.  For assistance outside of the laboratory, we encourage you to visit the Office of the Provost’s webpage with resources for Student Complaints and Appeals. This site hosts a step-by-step guide that is helpful in determining a productive approach to resolve academic problems.

For FSU Faculty, Postdocs, and Staff seeking assistance and support resolving work-related conflict or stress, we encourage you to visit the FSU Faculty/Staff Ombuds Program webpage.

At the FSUCML, we expect everyone to act ethically and with integrity, as well as to be fair and respectful of others.

We encourage all students, faculty, staff, and visitors to speak up if encountering behavior that is harassing, discriminatory, or not aligned with our professional standards. Report.fsu.edu provides a full list of FSU resources available to report suspected or alleged misconduct.

For emergencies, contact the FSU Police Department at (850) 644-1234 or call 911.
